Lost in Between by K.L. Kreig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a love story with well developed characters, who have enough chemistry to make the pages sizzle and twists that will make your head spin!
Willow has suffered a lot of tragedy in her young life. She is currently working two jobs to help support herself and her mom, who suffers from a horrible medical ailment. Poor Willow has a lot on her plate and doesn't have time for a relationship. She is just struggling to survive everyday.
Shaw doesn't do relationships. He is a true playboy at heart. Shaw is the Mayor's son, so the family name is proud and can't handle any bad press against them.
Willow and Shaw meet by chance. The sexual tension is thick as they both try to deny it. Shaw needs a "girlfriend" to help save his family name from being ruined. Willow just happens to be a paid companion, who is in desperate need of money. They enter the perfect contract of two poor souls who need each other more than they know.
Feelings develop and things change between Shaw and Willow. They both want more of each other but go about it the wrong way.
The author did a great job with the dual POVs. That's one of my favorite things in a book. I love getting both opinions from the characters! The writing is suberb and I can't wait for book #2.
A fair warning, yes, this book does end on a doozy of a cliffhanger. So hold on tight and wait for the next one!
